Landscape Waste Disposal.
The U.S. uses 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour.

SWANCC’s transfer station in Glenview, Illinois processes over 287,000 tons of garbage every year. Garbage from the 23 member communities is brought to the transfer station, compressed and tied into bales, and loaded into fully enclosed semi-trailers for the trip to the landfill. The garbage from three garbage trucks can be placed in a single semi-trailer – saving time, fuel, and reducing air pollution.

The Glenview Transfer Station (GTS) is available to Commercial Landscape Contractors and other commercial entities for the disposal of landscape waste. A gate rate of $55.00 per ton is in effect for landscape waste (grass, leaves and branches 4” diameter and under).

Paying by the ton saves money over paying by the yard. There is no minimum charge, so customers only pay for what they bring to the GTS. You can take advantage of this offer at any time by bringing loads to the transfer station and paying with a major credit card; or, by calling SWANCC to establish an account that provides for regular billing.

Hours:

Monday - Friday – 6:00 am to 4:00 pm

Saturday – 6:00 am to 12:00 pm

Sunday – Closed

Rates:

Commercial Waste – $55.00 per ton (no minimum)

Hazardous Waste is NOT accepted at the Glenview Transfer Station.

If you would like to set up a new account for regular billing, contact SWANCC's office at (847) 724-9205 or write info@swancc.org.

Location:

The Illinois Department of Agriculture has expanded the Emerald Ash Borer Quarantine Zone to all of northeastern Illinois . Details of the expansion can be found on the IDA website at:

http://www.agr.state.il.us/eab/

This will allow the Agency to take regulated landscape waste to compost facilities within the expanded Quarantine Zone without grinding; therefore, SWANCC will discontinue the $18 EAB surcharge.  Since the transfer station will no longer be grinding, there will be a 6” maximum on the diameter of branches brought to the transfer station.

The Glenview Transfer Station landscape waste rates will go back to the original rates:

Non-Member Landscape Waste Rate: $55.00 per ton

Logs/Hard to Handle Waste
$80.00 per ton
